Natural Health & Lifestyle Coaching through the lens of Functional Medicine is an individualized, patient-centered, science-based approach to healthcare that looks beyond symptom resolution to identify why illness occurs and addresses the root cause. The conventional system has grown so dependent on pharma, on prescribing away every symptom, that we have lost touch with how to create and restore health.

Functional medicine views symptoms as reflections and messengers of common interconnected imbalances. This approach addresses the whole system - the ecosystem of the body - not just how different parts operate independently from one another. Functional Medicine considers the whole person, not parts. By understanding systems biology, we can work to correct the fundamental imbalances that are the root cause of all diseases. Rather than managing disease, we can apply the science of creating health.

Unlike conventional medicine, Functional Medicine personalizes treatment based on a patient’s unique needs. Most chronic diseases are preventable and even reversible if a comprehensive individualized approach addressing diet, environmental exposure, stress, exercise, and psychospiritual needs is implemented. Functional Medicine looks at the pattern of dysfunction underlying chronic diseases and offers a model of care that can prevent or reverse such illnesses. It is based on the way our genes are stimulated and respond to our environment. The guiding principle is that if we can change our environment and our behavior, we can change the way our genes perform. A central piece of the "environment" is the patient's chosen lifestyle.

One major environmental factor that modifies gene expression is the individual's nutritional status. Nutrients can influence the expression of genes, the translation of the genetic message into active protein, and that protein's ultimate influence in controlling metabolic function. This means that our genes do not predetermine our health. No single gene controls the presence or absence of chronic disease. Our pattern of health and illness is determined by how families of genes are expressed, and that expression can be influenced and altered by a range of lifestyle, diet, and environmental factors.

Full Body Systems-Functional Nutrition Counseling® uses Functional Medicine principles and a Full Body Systems-based approach to nutrition interventions to help harness the power of food as medicine.

Functional Nutrition is a form of personalized holistic medicine as a means of transforming healthcare at large, delivering to each person the opportunity to take their health into their own hands; thereby gaining more ownership over their everyday choices in relation to their signs, symptoms, and ultimate health. Functional Nutritionists are educated in both the science and physiology of nutrition; and in the art of the Functional Nutrition practice.

Full Body Systems is a comprehensive approach designed to address the roots of a client’s condition through education, diet, and lifestyle modification. Functional Nutritionists have a comprehensive knowledge base of the 7 biological systems of the body and which foods aid in enhancing their innate functions. They understand the importance of these systems and how dysfunction impacts our health.

The Details

90 min Intake Assessment

Intake assessments consist of an in-depth review of your history and discussion centered around your daily nutritional and lifestyle habits. This first visit will also entail prioritizing your story by creating a safe container for your journey to be shared on a deeper level. Our intention is to understand your interpretation of certain life experiences and to assist with integration. We will also focus on learning your goals and motivational drivers in addition to what provides meaning and purpose in your life. We will initiate a partnership and work together to create a client-driven personalized plan; recommendations will be offered.

60 min Follow-up Session

Follow-up sessions will be conducted, ideally, every 3-4 weeks depending on your needs and desires. These visits will serve as a “check-in” for further assessment and recommendation, in addition to acting as an ongoing resource for educational material such as personalized handouts, recipes, books, research papers, and other forms of media. Through inquiry, reflection on strengths, values, visions, and powerful dialogue, we will be dedicated to supplying invaluable fuel and continuous support to aid in your transformation and reclamation. Together we will continue to uncover the mental, emotional, and spiritual components that drive your motivation to heal.

    Secondary packages are available for those who complete a package but feel they would benefit from additional support.

  • If in need of lab work, orders can be sent by your medical provider or you can order labs through platforms such as Rupa Health. We request an investment of $75 for lab interpretation when results are received as it takes time to analyze lab markers and how they factor into nutrition.

    Another area of expense is possible supplementation. Our goal is to guide our clients toward obtaining nearly all of their essential micronutrients from whole foods. With that being said, in the interim, a supplement regimen can be useful for getting the body back on track which can make all the difference in your health journey. We only endorse the use of high-quality products and utilize Fullscript for dispensing all recommended supplements.

How Does Manifestation Coaching Work? All one-on-one coaching begins with getting crystal clear on your vision and what you are desiring to call in. Then we will work on what stories or faulty beliefs have been holding you back.

You will learn tools for replacing your limiting self-talk and beliefs with healthy, powerful, and positive ones, and will be assigned “outer” work to bring your intended point of desire in. This might be a partner to share your life with, or more financial abundance, or bringing to life the project you have been thinking about for so long but haven’t been able to bring to completion.
